Vinakras Sežana Winery has been making high-quality wines since 1947. One especially stands out: Teran PTP, a special Slovenian wine produced from the Refosco grape variety. The specific properties of the climate and the soil contribute to this grape producing a wine that is specific to the Karst Plateau: teran. Teran is revered for its unique bouquet, full body, high extract, and intensely vivid ruby-red color. Teran is a full-bodied, dense wine that strengthens one’s body. Each glass of teran hides the whole of Karst in it: the red soil, the bora wind, the sun, and the persistence of a winegrower from Karst.

In this land of scarce vegetation near Lipica, farmers have been employing traditional methods of making cured meats in the early November for centuries.
